The Godfather of Fitness

We lost a pioneer recently, a man who has had a positive influence on our health and the health of the world. Perhaps the younger of us may only recognize him as the star of an infomercial selling juicers. Jack LaLanne’s television show implored and entertained housewives to exercise and become healthier. He is credited with bringing the concept of fitness and exercise to the masses. He opened a national chain of health clubs. He was a chiropractor that taught millions how to heal themselves with diet and exercise Click here for the full article.

Step by Step

Walking is an activity that requires no special equipment. Hopefully, we can participate in the activity throughout our life. It is easily incorporated into other daily activities. It can be performed alone or with others. You can walk with your lover, your child, your parent or your pet. Night or day. Winter, spring, summer or fall. We can hold a conversation during the exercise, or listen to music. It uses both sides of the body in a balanced and rhythmic coordinated way. Walking can help control weight, improve circulation, increase aerobic fitness, as well as facilitating your mood and memory. Click here for the full article.

Housework, if done right, will kill you

Housework, if done right, will kill you. Erma Bombeck It is said that if you want something done right do it yourself. In part due to the pride and diligence of many people, they do their own chores around the house. They move through the house and yard cleaning, bending, pushing, pulling, squatting, reaching, lifting, and carrying. Repetitious motions, prolonged postures and persistence to fatigue. The result: a tidy home and yard, and a tired and sore body. Perhaps if we re-define the idea of “done right” we can get the work done and save some of the ache and pain.
